Millsap VFD is needing more members. We have a place for everyone from providing support services to fighting fire. We are a volunteer orginization and depend on the community we serve.
Members of MVFD have more than just a desire to help people. They also have courage and dedication, assertiveness and a willingness to learn new skills, face new challenges and work as part of a team. There is a sense of accomplishment after controlling a building fire, joy and elation when a child is rescued, compassion for victims, and fulfillment in teaching fire safety.
The bottom line in our business is measured by the prevention of loss of life, pain and suffering, and property damage. We exist, and are prepared for one reason only: to provide service to our community. If you feel you have what it takes to meet the challenges of our business, we welcome you to join us.
Everyone is invited to attend our meetings and training. We have a regular meeting the first Tuesday of each month starting at 7:30 p.m. at the station and training every Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. Please contact any of our members and check out the Join Us tab above for more information.
Everyone is welcome to attend our monthly meetings at the first of each month, usually on the first Tuesday at 7:30 PM at the station. If you are interested in joining our even just helping out please visit us at our next meeting. At any time you can send us an email or leave a message on the station phone and we will get back to you with more information.
The department provides regular monthly training at least twice a month. We want each member to have the knowledge and skills to protect themselves while helping people in need.
Each new applicant:
must live within the Millsap fire area
will have a criminal background check
must attend at least two meeting before joining.
Junior Firefighter must be 15 - 18 years old and be passing all subjects in school.
Every precaution is taken to ensure our junior members safety. No junior member is ever allowed to go into a burning structure.
